Ensuring Your JDA Investment’s Enduring Value and Return As part of our Customer Value Program, we established the Investment Protection Program (IPP) to protect your JDA investment and confirm its enduring value as we migrate to new technology platforms. What’s more, the IPP will streamline your implementation of any significant enhancements available. The end result: Maximized return on your software investment. New Era for JDA ? A Common Application Platform We are working aggressively to ensure the successful evolution, timely delivery and marketability of the next generation of JDA. We believe this enterprise architecture will be the standard in years to come and that software vendors who cannot offer or support it will diminish in the market. We are making the necessary investment to ensure that you will remain technologically current and operate in a highly efficient environment. The IPP Promise With the IPP, maintenance paying clients in good standing who have licensed business functionality from JDA will automatically receive the new version of that identical functionality at no additional cost based upon the following criteria: 1. Passport Support maintenance agreements with JDA must be current. 2. Customers will receive “like for like” functionality.
3. Clients will receive the JDA Enterprise Architecture? necessary to support their JDA applications at no charge. JDA Enterprise Architecture includes:
The footprint of the JDA Enterprise Architecture will be kept to a minimum for each product deployed, however, once the framework is installed for the first product, then the addition of other products will be substantially simplified. In addition, JDA Enterprise Architecture will be completely open (Web Services) and customers will be able to leverage these services in their non-JDA applications. In many cases, we will offer new, advanced options pre-integrated with replacement products at an additional cost. The intent is that if you choose to license them, you will be able to implement with minimal effort. Continued Support for Our Customers’ Platforms Our development strategy is based on the concept that JDA Enterprise Architecture is a common platform that maximizes reusable functionality as much as possible between the applications, and are now able to eliminate redundancy for our clients’ benefit. We plan to continue support of Unix/Oracle platforms as data servers while introducing Intel/SQL Server. We also plan to continue support of the IBM iSeries platform as a data server for those applications currently deployed on that platform. We will provide the connectivity for our iSeries applications to interoperate with the rest of our portfolio. Our iSeries customers can look forward to growing capabilities and improved functionality while still exploiting their current platform. Upgrade Paths Under JDA’s IPP Upgrading to JDA Enterprise Architecture applications may require our customers to license additional third-party software depending upon their current systems infrastructure. The IPP does not cover the costs of any third-party products required. Information for Customers that Use Stand-Alone or PC Applications If customers have licensed current JDA products that are stand-alone PC-based applications such as Arthur Planning? Stand-Alone, Space Planning by IntactixR, etc., they will not automatically gain the right to receive the JDA Enterprise Architecture, which can connect all users into one central repository. In these cases, customers can continue to use their stand-alone application or can upgrade to the next generation of these products. We’ll continue to support point solution deployments and are not building a monolithic system. However, the lines between our products are blurring. A client’s upgrade path will be to a series of modules within our solution set. |
